On September 1, 2008, the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil) Board
appointed Hassan Kabbani for CEO of Mobinil.
Hassan Kabbani has accumulated eighteen years of experience in
telecommunications operations’ management across the MENA region. He was
appointed Chief Executive Officer of four major telecom operations.
He has accumulated an extensive experience in managing telecom operations
including strategic planning, economic and financial modeling at sector and
company level, operations optimization, and human resource management.
In 1999, after several years with France Telecom, Hassan Kabbani joined the
Orascom Telecom Group and was soon appointed to take on his first CEO position.
Kabbani has worked in different countries including: Lebanon, Egypt, Syria,
Yemen and Algeria. In 2002, he was appointed as CEO of Telecel International
Holding. Among his achievements was the financial and operational restructuring
of twelve GSM operations across the African continent.
In October 2003, Hassan Kabbani was chosen to be CEO of Orascom Télécom Algérie
-"Djezzy". In the span of five years, the company has added fourteen million
new subscribers. During this period, OTA demonstrated outstanding financial
results and became a model of success in Algeria, and in the telecom sector
within the entire region.
Lebanese born, Hassan Kabbani holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing
from the Lebanese American University (LAU) followed by several postgraduate
degrees from INSEAD and ESA (Ecole Supérieur des Affaires).
